On SmarterTVs where Netflix is not natively available, there is an option to mirror the screen of your playback device on to your TV which you can then play Netflix, or any other streaming service through.
Playback devices can range from PC, laptop, Android phone, iPhone or tablets.
Depending on the manufacture of your device the 'Screen Mirroring' option may be label something similar. (i.e. Samsung = 'Smart View', Huawei = 'MirrorShare')
Android
To mirror your device's screen:
- First ensure both your device and TV are connected to the same network.
- Open the 'Screen Mirroring' option from your devices quick settings menu
- Select the TV you are trying to cast to from the pop-up menu
- It will take a moment for your device to connect to your TV.
- Once your device is connected you can now open any app on your device including Netflix and it will be mirrored to your TV.
NOTE: Ensure your device is orientated in landscape mode to get a full-screen aspect on your TV
Apple Devices
For screen mirroring to work with an iDevice a third party app, such as 'AirPin Pro', will be needed. This can be purchased and downloaded through the Google Play Store on your TV.
- Swipe up from the bottom of your iDevice and select the 'Screen Mirror' option
- Select the TV you want to connect to from the pop-up menu.
- Once your device is connected you can now open any app on your device including Netflix and it will be mirrored to your TV.
NOTE: Ensure your device is orientated in landscape mode to get a full-screen aspect on your TV
